CIA Torture Whistleblower John Kiriakou on NBC Today 01/28/2013
A federal judge has sentenced former CIA officer John Kiriakou to 30 months in prison for blowing the whistle on torture. He is the first person in 27 years convicted of violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act for leaking classified secrets exposing CIA torture. Every one of the actual torturers remain free.
Kiriakou appeard on NBC's Today show this morning to talk about the case, saying he leaked the information to speak out against torture, and that he wears his conviction as a badge of honor.
